Northern Hairy-Nosed Wombat

Australia has three species of wombat, the largest of the Wombat being the Northern Hairy-nosed Wombat which is one of the world's most critically endangered species. The Northern hairy-nosed Wombat on average weighs around 32kg and has soft long hair and pointed ear which sets them apart from the other wombat species.

The hairy-nosed wombat is a nocturnal animal however enjoys some morning sun in the winter mornings and afternoons. The Northern hairy-nosed wombat enjoys a diet of native grasses and only feed for 6 hours at night as their cool, humid burrows helps them to conserve energy.
